GLOBSEC

GLOBSEC is a global think-tank based in Bratislava committed to enhancing security, prosperity and sustainability in Europe and throughout the world.

We generate new ideas and solutions for a more stable, prosperous and sustainable world, by:

• Conducting world-class research and political insight into major threats and risks to our society.

• Driving change by engaging esteemed policy-makers and senior leaders from different sectors in our        policy initiatives.

• Putting together leaders and stakeholders from multiple sectors at the right time in one place.

The GLOBSEC Policy Institute, which is an integral part of the GLOBSEC organisation, is a policy-oriented think-tank analysing foreign policy and international environment. Activities within this think tank are devoted to research in five programme areas: Cyber Security Programme, Defence & Security Programme, Energy Programme, Future of Europe Programme and European Neighbourhood Programme.

One example of the project related to the OSCE topics, which has been recently implemented, was the GLOBSEC Intelligence Reform Initiative (GIRI). GIRI is a pan-European and North American network of serving and former counter-terrorism officials and academics who recognise the need for change in the transatlantic security architecture. The Initiative itself addresses the problem of increased terror thereat by providing the means for the efficient pre-emption of the terrorist attacks, rather than solely concentrating on the means of effective investigation post factum.

The Institute wants to make an impact so that values of the GLOBSEC organisation – liberal and democratic order in the transatlantic world – are deeply embedded in the agenda of governments.
