Since the beginning of its operation, it has been consistently expanding its educational offer, making it more attractive, to meet the interests and needs of young people and society. In 2018 and 2019, the Pedagogical University, like other public universities in Poland, underwent reform, which is reflected in significant organizational changes. At present, 22 institutes comprise the basic units at the Pedagogical University, offering studies in 51 fields and several dozen specialties. The continual development of the university’s scientific environment, innovation, high level and the dissemination of the conducted research determine the University’s strength and allow it to compete in the world of science, and assures a significant position on the national and international stage. The competition of the Minister of Science and Higher Education conducted in 2019, as a result of which the Pedagogical University was qualified to the group of the 20 best public universities in Poland, is proof of this very fact.
On the one hand, the University supports the development of individual scientific disciplines represented by academics; on the other, it promotes interdisciplinary projects, also in cooperation with foreign partners, representatives of public administration, the economic sector, and non-governmental organizations. The university steadily expands contacts with foreign research centers and promotes innovative analyses in international research teams, including contemporary globalization processes, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, organization of education and management.
