Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Institute for Security and Safety (ISS)

The Institute for Security and Safety (ISS) is located in Potsdam near Berlin, Germany. The Institute focuses on research, international education and training concepts in the areas of nuclear security and cyber security.

We believe that people make the difference as to whether or not security works. That is why we put great emphasis on training, exercises and exchange of educational experiences.

As an institute of the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences we are able to offer sophisticated national and international education concepts with direct links to university programs. We can also offer on and off-site training in security and safety.

Our main area of work is in the context of nuclear security with a strong focus on cyber security. These areas are linked together by "security management". Security management is the overall discipline which addresses many essential aspects in the field of "security".

Most of our lecturers, researchers and trainers are also practitioners with hands-on experience and a broad understanding of how to implement security.
